Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney is a beautiful 23 day festival of light, music and ideas that will start again next year on May 24, 2019.  They have been lighting up the Opera House and this gorgeous city since 2009, and for the past 2 years I have been fortunate to be able to enjoy this beautiful sight. This began as a brilliant idea to create and attract more tourism during their winter season and boy has it worked! The estimated most recent guess of attendance this year surpassed 2.3 million and on the busiest nights more than 100,000 people packed the area around the Opera House. Rather than being in the crowds of people, we have found a favorite spot in the "Rocks" area called the Glenmore Tavern to plant ourselves for the afternoon patiently waiting for the sun to set. As soon as it gets dark, the show begins running a "loop" of the light show on the Opera House that lasts for approximately 10-15 min and will run till 11 pm. We gather around a warm patio heater and enjoy a beverage or two, sit back and enjoy the show and view, and what a view it is. We also enjoyed the light show on the Museum of Art this year as it was creative and architectural.  I hope this spectacular city is on your list of place to visit, as it is one not to be missed. the people are lovely, food amazing, wines are good, and there is so much to do year around!

Bondi to Coogee Walk

The Bondi to Coogee is one of the most famous coastal hiking trails in Sydney, New South Wales and perhaps even Australia. The grade is easy, however does include some steep stairs, and its 6 km (one way) which can take 2-3 hours with stops. The track consists of two sections Bondi to Bronte and Bronte to Coogee. The scenery is spectacular, with its coves, beaches, parks, picnic spots, and cafes that offer wonderful fish and chips. It's a fabulous way to spend a day!

Fish at the Rocks

A recent wonderful dinner I enjoyed in the Rocks area of Sydney of Barramundi (Asian Sea Bass) stuffed with Prawns and Salmon served with a light green Curry sauce.
