The city thats known for having the the best of the best! So much to see and so much to do.
I took this picture on the 25 minute, hair raising (to me) Gondola ride on our way to see the Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha. As we crossed the Tung Chung Bay with panoramic views of HK International airport and the south China sea, we quickly crested the top of the mountain, off in the distance this sight took my breath away. This statue is a gynormous bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni that was completed in 1993. It's located at Gong Ping, Lantau Island in Hong Kong and it is hard to believe it only took 3 years to complete. Once we arrived, we climbed the 268 steps to the top to take in the amazing views.
An amazing view of this huge master piece!
I you choose to bypass the Gondola.....you may hike.... ummmm NOT!
